Synopsis What does feminism have to do with me? With me, an artist living in Switzerland, where equality seems to have been achieved? And why should I make dematerialized art in a capitalist world?

A Swiss artist seeks answers to these questions in New York, the place where conceptual art emerged and Western feminist initiatives were simultaneously ignited. In the late 1960s and 70s, the well-known art critic, feminist activist and writer Lucy R. Lippard was active here. Here she discussed dematerialized art and the concept of conceptual art. Here  she helped initiate various feminist activities. Her commitment was groundbreaking - and still is. Her view of social structures and, above all, her criticism of patriarchy are reflected in the artist's monologues. The awakening of a feminist consciousness is experiencing a new topicality in Europe as a result of the political shift to the right. So the forays through New York document a monologic search for attitude in art and everyday life.

Special Note:
The creation process of this short film deserves special mention: the camerawoman Morena Barra accompanies the artist Karin Karinna Bühler on her forays through New York. Morena films with a hand-held camera in order to heighten physicality and subjective perception. At spontaneously chosen locations, the artist is asked a question, which she answers ad hoc. Back in Switzerland, only the answers are transcribed and then clustered by Karin into selected terms. The result is a modular plot, a monologue. The film material is now edited by Morena on the basis of the monologue and the original sound is supplemented by the musician Hannah Wirnsperger who practices live coding. So the entire moviemaking is a collaborative process that reflects a feminist practice and is guided by the joy of experimentation.
